I need you all to see this actual DeSantis ad that the campaign actually put out

I’ve been waiting for DeSantis to jump on the fact that Trump basically ran in 2016 as neutral on gay and trans issues, I feel like everyone memory-holed that moment (doesn’t help that it didn’t translate into policy at all)

But also this is a really pathetic ad, like this ad only looks cool if you spend 20+ hours a week on right-wing social media. The fashwave-esque aesthetic with phonk playing over a bunch of memes… this would work if you’re trying to get racist 19 year olds to vote for you, but for the retirees and car dealership owners who decide GOP primaries this just looks bizarre

It’s really symptomatic of how many people inside the DeSantis campaign and even his inner circle are just extremely online weirdoes who are just barely above Nick Fuentes’ level
